Pueblo Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the Pueblo, CO area to businesses and industries considering a new location or expansion. The mission of PEDCO is to attract, retain and expand primary jobs for the community. The people of Pueblo came together in 1981 and formed PEDCO. Business people, large and small, and individuals dug into their pockets to find money to support PEDCO and its economic development efforts. They also gave of their time, available at a moment's notice to talk to interested companies. In 1984, Pueblo’s citizens voted to tax themselves to support economic development. The citizens continue to keep that half-cent sales tax in place. PEDCO uses the money for economic development incentives, funding certain capital projects and equipment purchases for new and expanding corporate neighbors. PEDCO’s membership is comprised of business, academic, cultural, individual, not-for-profit and government leaders. These are citizens who realize that a secure economic future depends on the opening of doors to new employers. PEDCO also works closely with city, county and state elected officials who stand ready to ease the way for the relocation of new businesses and industries into the community. We encourage new membership and expansion of existing member roles to increase our momentum and continue to build an economically strong community. Companies considering Pueblo as the site for a facility can expect PEDCO to work closely with them. We encourage you to contact us by phone or email to request an information packet. PEDCO will assign a team to establish a liaison with the company and meet with you as needed. We respect the fact that all inquiries, discussions and negotiations are confidential.
