BUSINESS & TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Built in 1920, the BTC was the home of the Kress Department Store, it was one of many popular retail centers.

In 1984, PEDCO moved in and started the business incubator program to grow and diversify the economic base of Pueblo by utilizing the tools of business incubation, entrepreneurial development and education.

Today, the BTC continues as a business incubator and incorporates temporary office space for corporations and out of town businesses.

Business incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services.

Successful completion of a business incubation program increases the likelihood that a startup company will stay in business for the long term: older studies found 87% of incubator graduates stayed in business, in contrast to 44% of all firms.
