The renovation was presented to the public Tuesday to thunderous applause — and even a few howls — from school officials, staff, students, elected officials and the public. They crowded into the new facility’s “Great Hall” for a grand opening and re-dedication. Students were seen going about their business in the facility in the beginning of this new semester.
Associated Student Government President Jake Harmon thanked student leadership involved in the project. “Without your leadership — the student leaders — we wouldn’t be where we are today,” he said. “This is an amazing facility … It’s fantastic to finally see it all come to fruition.”
PEDCO Team : The people of Pueblo came together in 1981 and formed PEDCO. Business people, large and small, and individuals dug into their pockets to find money to support PEDCO and its economic development efforts. They also gave of their time, available at a moment’s notice to talk to interested companies.
In 1984, Pueblo’s citizens voted to tax themselves to support economic development. The citizens continue to keep that half-cent sales tax in place. PEDCO uses the money for economic development incentives, funding certain capital projects and equipment purchases for new and expanding businesses.
